You will probably think this is Jeff’s recipe, but it’s not. I found it in Culinary Magazine and I was very intrigued.
It turned out that this soup is a classic American soup, which is called this way as its main ingredient is mince meat. It is easy to prepare – fry the vegetables and mince meat and then add broth. If you ask me, we can also call it after the typical Bulgarian dish – MOUSSAKA SOUP and we will certainly not be wrong.
I take the opportunity to share an interesting fact about the burgers mentioned in the magazine. One of the first fans of meat burgers are the Mongol warriors of the Genghis Khan’s Golden Horde. It was during the thirteenth century when they conquered the whole of Asia and Eastern Europe, riding all day and holding the reins with one hand and the other with a piece of sheep meat between two pieces of bread.
Come on, roll up your sleeves and make this easy Moussaka Soup, but for the culinary fans to whom you will serve it, present it more formally with its real name “AMERICAN MINCE MEAT BURGER SOUP”.

НАЧИН НА ПРИГОТВЯНЕ:
First, prepare the vegetables for the soup. Finely chop the onion, garlic, carrot and pepper, and potatoes - into cubes.
In a casserole, heat the oil and fry in it for 2 minutes the carrots, onions and garlic. Stir to keep from burning.
Add the pepper and continue to fry for about 2 more minutes.
Add the mince meat. Stir until it is crumbly and gets mixed with the vegetables.
Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
Add the potatoes and mix.
Add the tomatoes and mix again. Add about 2-2.5 liters of hot water or broth.
Add the Worcestershire sauce. Stir in and taste. If necessary, add more salt and pepper.
Heat the soup to a boil. Then reduce the heat and cook with the lid covered for about 20 minutes.
Serve while still warm. Enjoy! 🙂
