Trying to prepare something low-carb for dinner and at the same time adding more flavor and juiciness to chicken breasts, I created this – a combination of chicken, yellow cheese and … pork sausage. The combination worked out well and we will definitely cook it again by experimenting with different flavors each time.
You should try it, too! It’s so fast and delicious that I don’t know how we haven’t tried it before!
INGREDIENTS:
DIRECTIONS:
Take the chicken fillets and with a sharp knife make cuts in every 1 cm, trying not to reach the bottom.
Cut the pork sausage in slices.
In each cut of the chicken steaks, place one or two pieces of sausage.
Cut the cheese into thin slices and carefully place them into the cuts next to the sausage.
Sprinkle with oregano or other desired spice and drizzle with a little olive oil (this step can be skipped as the sausage will release enough fat and flavour).
Important! Since I forgot to do it in the beginning, I'll mention it here - in the cuts of the chicken fillet smear with a little thick tomato paste - this adds a lot of flavour to the chicken. I did it after putting on the sausage and the yellow cheese, and even forgot to take a picture. But you don't forget 🙂
Wrap the steaks with aluminium foil and bake for about 15 minutes in a preheated at 180 degree oven.
Now it is the time to remove the foil and cook for another 5 minutes.
This step is optional, as the chicken steaks look more than wonderful at this stage. I had a small slice of other cheese and some blue cheese left in the fridge. I cut them into small pieces and placed them on the steaks.
Bake for another 5 minutes until golden.
Serve while still warm. Bon appetit!
If I can do it, so can you!
Bon appetit!
