Probably it’s the same with you, but at home, anything that contains chocolate in any form disappears very quickly. So today I would like to show you wonderful muffins after an American recipe, of course CHOCOLATE CHIPS MUFFINS.

Before you start, turn the oven to 200 degrees with a fan.
Now let's talk about buttermilk. As this product is not available in Bulgaria, here are some options how you can easily replace it:
- 1 cup of thick kefir or ayran (yoghurt mixed with some water);
- 1 cup of yoghurt mixed with milk in an approximate ratio of 50:50;
- 1 cup milk with added 1 tsp. white vinegar, leave the mixture for about 5 minutes, it will curdle and thicken lightly.
Prepare a bowl for the dry ingredients.
Sift together the flour, baking powder and baking soda.
Whisk well.
Add the crushed chocolate.
Whisk.
Add the vanilla and stir.
Prepare a second bowl for the wet ingredients.
Whisk well.
Add the wet to the dry ingredients.
Mix well.
Prepare a muffin molds baking tray and place paper tins in the nests.
Pour the mixture into the molds, the level of the dough should be about 1 cm below their edge.
Place the muffins in the preheated 200 degree oven and bake for 5 minutes. Then reduce the temperature to 180 degrees with a fan and bake for another 10-15 minutes until golden.
Check the readiness of the muffins with a toothpick or a wooden skewer.
About 20 muffins come out of this amount of dough.
