Honestly, I had never heard of these FORGOTTEN COOKIES. I saw them in one of the Facebook culinary groups among the many cookies recipes prepared during the pre-Christmas cake fever. Then I wrote them down in the notebook ready for preparation after the New Year. Well, here they are! Beauty!
Why are they called “forgotten”? You will find out when you start baking them. 😉 You put them in the oven, turn it off and forget about them. I could barely stand 4 hours not to open and check what was going on inside.
After I published the recipe, I learned from the comments of many culinary fans that their mothers and grandmothers have been preparing them a long time ago and they are also called “rocks” and “pebbles” because they look them.
Super fast, easy and most of all delicious! Well, you have to wait a while to get ready, but it’s definitely worth it. And it is an exercise for patience and nerve training. “Ommmm …..”
* The recipe is borrowed from Silvia Georgieva from the culinary group on Facebook “My cuisine from near and far – Ma cuisine d’ici et d’ailleurs”.
And here is the recipe:
НЕОБХОДИМИ ПРОДУКТИ:
НАЧИН НА ПРИГОТВЯНЕ:
First, turn the oven to 180 degrees without a fan.
By the time you prepare the sweets, it should have already reached the required temperature. This is important for the baking process.
Put the nuts in a dry pan. Bake them lightly over medium heat until you start to feel a pleasant aroma. Be careful not to burn them 🙂
Then grind them or crush them not very finely. You can also cut them.
In a bowl, place the egg whites with a pinch of salt.
Start beating them with the mixer until you get a fluffy foam.
Then gradually start adding the sugar continue beating. You should get hard peaks.
Add the shredded chocolate.
Stir until a homogeneous.
Add the coarsely ground nuts.
Stir.
Prepare a large flat tray and cover it with baking paper.
Take a teaspoon and scoop up enough mixture to fill the spoon.
Pour the mixture in small piles.
Leave a little space between them, but not too much. They do not swell, but spill very slightly.
It is important to distribute the whole mixture in one tray. You will see why ...;)
And now it's time to reveal the secret - why these sweets are called "forgotten" sweets.
Because we put them in an already preheated oven, reaching 180 degrees, turn off the oven and forget about them. 🙂
Leave the pan with the sweets in the oven for at least 4 hours. You can leave them overnight if you prepare them in the evening.
They become simply beautiful - with interesting nice shapes like pebbles.
Believe me, they disappear very quickly!
Enjoy! 🙂
Щом аз мога, значи и вие можете!
Добър апетит!
