Here is another Saturday temptation – in Italian way with the most delicious Bolognese and Béchamel sauce as in the wonderful lasagna, and in our Bulgarian way – to use whatever pasta we have in the cupboard. Let’s not forget the delicious yellow crust on top. And you want – sprinkled on top with Parmesan…
Well, here are my LASAGNA BOLOGNESE WITH MACARONI. Later I found out that in Greece it is called PASTICIO, and in Italy – Pasta Pasticciata. But no matter how they call it – it’s delicious, I guarantee you! Just try it! 🙂

Here is the recipe:

НАЧИН НА ПРИГОТВЯНЕ:
First, boil the macaroni in a large saucepan with salted water for about 10 minutes.
Strain.
In a wider and deeper frying pan, heat the fat and add the grated onions and carrots.
Stew until the onion is fried and slightly golden.
Once the vegetables are soft, add the finely chopped garlic. Fry for a few more minutes.
Add the tomato sauce or the diced tomatoes. You can also use fresh tomatoes if you prepare the recipe in the summertime.
Add the minced meat.
Mix well and cook until the minced meat becomes crumbly.
Add the tomato puree.
Stir. Cook for a few more minutes until the liquid almost evaporates.
Add the spices and stir.
The sauce is ready!
Prepare a baking tray with approximate dimensions of about 24/30 cm.
Pour the macaroni and spread on the bottom of the pan.
Pour the Bolognese sauce.
Mix the macaroni with the sauce.
Put the butter and oil in a saucepan over medium heat until the butter melts.
Add the flour.
Stir and let the mixture boil for 1-2 minutes until it changes its color slightly.
Don't forget to stir.
Add the cold milk in portions.
Initially, the mixture will be thick as a dough, but with the continuous addition of milk, it will dilute. It is important to stir constantly to avoid lumps.
Add the spices.
Cook for another 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
Pour the Béchamel sauce over the pasta.
Smooth well the surface.
Grate the yellow cheese on top.
Bake the dish in a preheated 220 degrees without a fan for about 15 minutes until golden brown.
When serving, you can optionally sprinkle with Parmesan flakes.
