Today I’m going to introduce to you a relatively unknown cake for us – MARZIPAN CAKE. I saw the recipe from my very good friend and amazing cook Natalie on her site kiflichka.com – recipe here.
I changed it a bit, of course, because I had no natural marzipan, but only candy called “marzipan potatoes” that contained almost nothing but marzipan. On top of that it turned out that I forgot to put the starch. Well, it turned out delicious again!
I had a hard time keeping it from disappearing before it was even warm! Try to prepare it and you will see how tasty it is.
And also, watch the short video for the cake preparation we made for your convenience. We would greatly appreciate it if you subscribe to our youtube page – Home cooking with Annie and Jeff.
Have a nice and tasty day!
And here you can see the full recipe:
INGREDIENTS:
DIRECTIONS:
Add the sugar to the bowl.
Add the eggs.
Add the melted butter. Stir with a wire whisk.
Add the sifted flour little by little, adding the baking powder first.
I have to be honest here - I forgot to add the starch. But here, even without it, the cake turned out great. But if you want to get the taste of the authentic recipe, be sure to add it, too.
Grate the marzipan. I had candies called "marzipan potatoes". So I cut them into small pieces.
Add the marzipan to the cake mixture, along with the vanilla and the almond essence (optional).
Pour the mixture into a cake baking form (about 22 by 12 cm in size) covered with baking paper.
Bake the cake in a preheated on 175 degree oven with a fan until ready for about 55-60 minutes. Wait for it to cool down before slicing it. Enjoy! 🙂
If I can do it, so can you!
Bon appetit!
