Put the mince, chopped onion and egg in a bowl.
Add some water in a plate and dip the bread.
Squeeze the bread from the water and break it into small crumbs in the bowl with the mince meat. Add all the other spices and mix the mince well.
Allow the mince to stand until you cook the potatoes.
Peel the potatoes and cut them into large disks. Dry them well.
In a frying pan heat the oil and place the potatoes to fry gently for 3-4 minutes on both sides. They do not need to be cooked completely. This will happen in the ceramic pot.
Remove the potatoes and place them in the pot where you will prepare the dish. It could be a regular pan, it could be a ceramic pot. I made it in a ceramic pot, because I think it tastes better.
Be sure to season with salt the potatoes.
Shape the meatballs and arrange them on the potatoes. You can also make smaller and round meatballs. Either way, it will be very tasty.
In the oil left in the pan after frying the potatoes, add the chopped peppers and fry them for about 1 minute.
In the original recipe, in addition to the peppers, 1 finely chopped celery stalk is added. I didn't have, so I didn't add. But you can do it.
Add the tomato paste.
Stir to keep the pate from getting into lumps.
Now add about 200 ml of hot water. Stir and wait a little to dilute the tomato paste well in the water. You don't have to cook a lot of mixture. Only 1 minute is enough to get no lumps.
Remove the sauce from the stove and pour the meatballs over the meatballs.
Cover the pot with the lid. If you are cooking in a regular baking pan, cover with aluminum foil.
Put the pan in a cold oven and then turn it to 180-190 degrees.
Bake for about 45-50 minutes until cooked.
