Without advertising this so popular chocolate-coconut dessert, I will confess this is one of my favourites. Here you can see how easy it is to prepare it at home without using any special culinary techniques.
I happened to see the recipe on the culinary site Tasty and hurried to make them. Both my daughter and my colleagues liked the desserts. So don’t delay and try! You will be the star among family and friends! 🙂
INGREDIENTS:
DIRECTIONS:
Put cream, butter and sugar in a pan or other non-stick casserole.
Stir constantly on low heat until the ingredients melt.
Then add the shredded coconut.
Stir well.
On the bottom of a small baking pan place aluminum foil and pour the mixture. Press it well. Leave the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour to cool.
Once the mixture has cooled, remove carefully the coconut mixture from the pan and place it on a countertop or a table. Cut into the shapes you want the desserts to be. I cut them at first about 2/5 cm in size, but since they were quite thin (about 1 cm) and there was a risk of breaking, I cut them once again in half and thus I got relatively square blocks. If you make a thicker layer of the coconut mixture, you can also try making larger sized desserts that are closer to the original.
Crush milk chocolate in a bowl. Put the bowl in microwave for about 1 minute to melt the chocolate. Optionally you can add about 1 tbsp. of sunflower oil. If you have some worries about melting chocolate in a microwave (still likely to burn if you leave it a little longer), melt the chocolate in a water bath.
Dip the coconut blocks into the chocolate with a fork and roll them well so they are covered with chocolate to all sides.
Place the chocolate desserts on paper, tray or a silicone pad.
The chocolate desserts should be left at least for several hours to harden.
Serve the cooled chocolate desserts in a small plate or decorate them as candy. I used baking paper and wrapped them as candies. I also glued children stickers on top just to funnier for my daughter. 🙂
If I can do it, so can you!
Bon appetit!
