Have you had breakfast yet?
Probably yes, but I would still like to share with you my cheese pastries (mekitsas), for which I used Radka Dimitrova’s recipe in the Facebook group “I love to cook”. You can cut them into squares, triangles, rhombuses or clovers 🙂 In fact, it almost doesn’t matter, because they will always be so delicious.
One tiny warning – I prepared half a dose from the recipe, because there are only two people at home eating such pastry temptations. And it is a sin to throw food. It is also very important to get an assistant, as you will see in the pictures, otherwise the mekitsas will not turn out so perfect 🙂
Try to prepare them. Easy and delicious!
Have a nice and tasty day!
Bon appetit!
Here’s the recipe:
INGREDIENTS:
DIRECTIONS:
Put yogurt and baking soda in a bowl and let it rise for a while.
Add the eggs.
Add the oil.
Stir well. You can also get an assistant for that 🙂
Crush the cheese in the bowl.
Stir again.
Start adding the flour. As the products are usually different, each time they take a different amount of flour. For this reason we add the flour gradually so that we can add as much flour as necessary.
When it becomes difficult to mix, knead the dough on a table or countertop.
You should get a nice medium soft dough. Cover it with a soft cloth to prevent it from drying and let it rest for about 10 minutes.
Roll out the dough on a sheet about 0.5-1.0 cm thick.
Cut into the shapes you want. You can use a ring or a glass to cut circles.
Fry in a frying pan with oil on moderate heat.
Eat with jam, cheese, milk or yogurt. But most importantly - with the people you loves 🙂 Bon appetit!
If I can do it, so can you!
Bon appetit!
