On cold days, there is nothing more warming the body and soul than a dish in a clay pot. Especially if it is with pork steaks … And the addition of melted cheese further enhances the incredible aroma that is floating around the kitchen. Take 2 hours for baking and you will see it will be perfect. 😉
The recipe is by Rositsa Stoyanova, published on the site gotvach.bg.
Enjoy! 🙂
INGREDIENTS:
DIRECTIONS:
First, start with the meat. If it is not cut into steaks, do it. Do not worry if they don't have perfectly the same thickness. Mine also didn't turn out very professionally cut. 😉 But for this purpose they are great!
Cut the smoked cheese into cubes or rings.
Sprinkle the steaks with salt (or with universal spice) and place them on a plate. Cover them with foil and let them stay for about 10 minutes.
The next stage is frying the steaks. For those who do not want their meal to be low carb, they may first roll the steaks in flour on both sides. Be sure to shake the excess flour off. In a frying pan, fry the steaks for a few minutes on both sides until a light golden tan.
Start by arranging the products in the pot. Arrange a row of steaks at the bottom.
Arrange a row of mushrooms on top of the steaks.
Arrange the smoked cheese on top of the mushrooms, making sure that it does not touch the walls of the pot.
Arrange a new row of steaks, mushrooms and melted cheese, finally finishing with steaks.
Pour the wine, the water from the jar of the mushrooms and some more water, if necessary, reaching the level of the steaks.
Close the lid and place it in a cold oven, turning it on at 170 degrees for about 1,5-2 hours.
After about 1.5 hours, the steaks should be tender and the cheese should have melted to produce a delicious sauce. Remove the lid and allow the dish to bake a little more to give a golden crust on top.
Enjoy! 🙂
If I can do it, so can you!
Bon appetit!
