Quick cake with biscuits and apples from the old culinary notebooks

Hello, dear chefs!

Today we will again have fun with a really easy cake, which was prepared a long time ago and I found in my old culinary notebook without any explanatory steps for preparation – only with the ingredients. It seems that most of the recipes were once only with the ingredients, because everyone knew how to prepare them and did not need much explanation. My favourite expressions “flour to medium soft dough” and “bake / bake in a moderate oven”. They were a complete mystery to me. Very often the flour was even missing in the products, because it implicips… 🙂

But there are no question how to prepare this recipe. This is our QUICK CAKE WITH BISCUITS AND APPLES with a little more explanation in the recipe below. 😉

 N.B.!!! 1 cup = 200 ml
 about 150 g tea or shortbread biscuits
 125 g butter
 4 eggs
 1 cup (200 g) sugar
 1 g (140 g) flour
 10 g baking powder
 3 medium sized apples
 1 tsp. cinnamon
 ½ cup walnuts
 icing sugar for dusting (optional)

НАЧИН НА ПРИГОТВЯНЕ:

Prepare a baking pan with approximate size of about 24/30 cm.
Arrange the biscuits on the bottom of the pan. If you use biscuits with a hole, fill them with pieces of biscuits.

Peel the apples and cut them into cubes about 1-1.5 cm in size.

Sprinkle with a little cinnamon on top.

Put the eggs and sugar in a bowl.
Whisk the batter.

Add the flour mixed with the baking powder, sifting it.

Stir until a homogeneous batter is obtained.

Pour the batter into the baking pan over the apples.

Sprinkle with the crushed walnuts on top.

Bake the cake in a preheated 180 degree oven without a fan for about 25 minutes.

Serve by cutting the cake into squares.
Optionally, sprinkle with icing sugar.
