I have to admit that we make such things when there is no bread at home. And this handsome guy came on Sunday evening. It was not intended to be in this form, but my husband said, “Let’s make a hole.” Of course, I reacted in a way, showing that nothing would come of it. But here it is the result – more than wonderful! You should try it too!
INGREDIENTS:
DIRECTIONS:
In a bowl place the yeast, the sugar and 2 tbsp. of flour.
Pour in the milk and mix well.
Let the mixture rest for about 15 minutes.
Add water to the yeast mixture.
Out of the 3 eggs, separate one yolk to spread the cake. Add the remaining 2 whole eggs and 1 egg-white to the mixture in the bowl.
Add the salt.
Add the vegetable oil.
Start adding the flour a little by little. For kneading I used the kitchen robot as it does much better kneading than I do. But you can easily mix everything by hand. It's even more enjoyable!
You get a soft and slightly sticky dough.
Cover the dough with a towel and let it rest for about 1 hour. The dough should double its volume.
Remove the dough from the bowl and place it on a wrinkled with flour surface. Knead just a little, trying not to add too much flour - just to get a nice ball.
Using your fingers, make a hole in the center of the dough and begin to expand slightly. A large ring is obtained. Take the dough and place it in a greased pan where the bread will be baked. Let the dough rest for 15 minutes.
After a while, the cake rises and inflates more. Decorate as you wish. I made diagonal cuts with a knife. Spread the surface of the bread with the beaten egg yolk, diluted with 1 tbsp. of oil and 1 tbsp. of water.
Bake the bread in a preheated oven at about 180 degrees.
Eat while the cake is still warm with butter, cheese, sprinkled spices or whatever you want. Bon appetit!
If I can do it, so can you!
Bon appetit!
