Swedish meatballs or “IKEA Meatballs”

I guess if you’ve been to IKEA, you’ve happened to taste their famous meatballs – small fried round meatballs drizzled with a delicious cream sauce.

I saw the recipe on a foreign culinary site (www.recipetineats.com) and immediately hurried to prepare them. Wow, obviously foreigners like them, too! 🙂 Well, mine have a little more sauce, because we love it at home, but you make them in the original way, as in the recipe.

Here it is:

Be careful not to get lumps. Since we love sauces at home, I added more broth. But in the original recipe, the sauce is much thicker. So do as you want.
Allow the sauce to thicken on the stove for about 4-5 minutes.

Add the meatballs and stir.
