Here’s another dessert I remember from my childhood – Turkish delight balls. My mom used to prepare them quite often, and maybe for this reason I like them so much. I love the combination of soft melting Turkish delight in the middle with a crunchy nut kernel. This time I did not put walnuts inside because my daughter for some time refuses to eat them for unknown reasons. But still they became great – delicate and delicious. Try to prepare them too. It’s so easy that even children can do it. Bon appetit!
INGREDIENTS:
DIRECTIONS:
Melt the lard and pour into a bowl. Mix the soda with the yogurt and let it rise for about 15 seconds, then pour it into the bowl.
Start adding flour until a soft dough is obtained.
Not necessary to knead.
Cut the Turkish delight into small pieces sized about 1 cm. If you want walnuts in the balls, cut them too, but not too big to be difficult to put them in the ball (no longer than 1 cm.)
To make the balls take a small piece from the dough as big as a walnut and in the middle place a piece of the Turkish delight and a piece of the walnut.
Give a good round shape to the ball well and put it in a baking tray. There is no need to smear it or put baking paper.
Bake at 180-190 degrees for about 15 minutes until the balls turn very slightly brown.
When ready and while they are still warm, roll them in the powder sugar, mixed with the vanilla.
If I can do it, so can you!
Bon appetit!
