More and more January holidays are coming nearer. That is why I want to present to you something extremely tasty that you can prepare for the coming holidays – these TWISTED BUTTER BAGELS (ACMA). They are really wonderful and I think this is one of the most delicious pastry product I’ve ever made. Soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside. And the whole neighborhood smells of freshly baked bread with lots of butter!
* The idea for the recipe is borrowed from the culinary youtube channel “Cuisine et Pâtisserie”
You should also try to prepare them!
Here is the recipe:

НАЧИН НА ПРИГОТВЯНЕ:
In a bowl, pour the lukewarm water and slightly warmed milk. Add the oil, salt, sugar, egg whites and yeast. If the yeast is fresh, crush it. Stir well until everything is dissolved and a homogeneous mixture is obtained.
Start adding the pre-sifted flour. Add to the mixture and stir.
Once the dough begins to form into a ball, pour it on a floured work surface.
Knead the dough until you get a soft and very slightly sticky dough. In my case, the dough took exactly 800 grams of flour.
Grease a bowl with a little oil and place the dough in it. Cover it with a lid, a soft towel or cling film and leave the dough in a warm place until it doubles in volume (depending on the temperature, the time can be from 30 to 60 minutes).
Pour the risen dough over the work surface.
With your fingers (or with a rolling pin) spread the dough to a square measuring about 70-80 cm each side.
Spread generously soft butter.
In my case, the butter hadn't softened much, so I put it in tiny pieces, which I pressed lightly against the dough.
Divide mentally the rolled dough into 3 horizontal strips.
Put the upper 1/3 part over the middle part.
Grease it with butter, too.
Then cover the bottom part over the middle one.
Grease again with butter.
Now mentally divide the dough into two halves vertically - left and right.
Put the left over the right or vice versa - it doesn't matter.
Carefully spread the dough with your hands to a square measuring about 40-50 cm each side.
Using a sharp knife or pizza knife, cut vertical strips about 4-5 cm wide.
You can also make them thinner. This will give you more and smaller bagels, which I think is great. Next time I prepare this recipe, I will make them bigger and smaller.
Take one strip and fold it in half.
Pull the strip from both ends to lengthen it to approximately the same length as before folding it.
Now gently twist the dough several times.
Wrap the bagel in circle and cover the edges so that they do not spread. You can also make a light knot (not double one;) )...
Take a large flat pan and cover it with baking paper. I used the large tray of the oven.
Place 4 pretzels at a distance from each other.
Cover them with a soft towel and let them rest for about 15-20 minutes.
Carefully grease the bagels with the yolks, mixed with a little oil.
Sprinkle with poppy seeds over the place where you joined the bagel (you can also sprinkle all over them). Of course, you can use another type of seeds for sprinkling or a combination of them.
Bake the bagels in a preheated oven at 200 degrees without a fan for about 20 minutes, until golden brown.
Wonderful, right? 🙂
Soft on the inside, crispy on the outside and fragrant with butter!
Grab while they are still warm! 🙂
Enjoy!
Щом аз мога, значи и вие можете!
Добър апетит!
