One of the best things in holidays is not the food, but the time spent with the people you love.
Halloween is not a Bulgarian holiday and I don’t personally understand it, especially the involvement of children in it. But if they have fun, this is what matters and fills the parents’ heart.
Well, last night, Maria and I had a great time preparing these WITCH FINGERS. It was a lot of fun and I’m glad the kids in her class will have something tasty to try and will be amused.
You should definitely try to prepare them, too. But don’t forget to include the kids. 🙂
I took the recipe from Stefani Angelova from a Facebook home-cookery culinary group, for which I heartily thank her!
Have a nice and delicious day!
INGREDIENTS:
DIRECTIONS:
Put the soft butter in a bowl.
Add the icing sugar.
Stir with mixer until fluffy white cream is obtained.
Add the baking soda and stir again.
Add the egg and stir until it is completely absorbed by the mixture.
You need to get a smooth cream.
Start adding the sifted flour by mixing with a spatula. When you find it difficult to work with the spatula, you can put the dough on the countertop and knead it just to absorb the flour.
You need to get a smooth, soft and pleasant to the touch dough.
Prepare the baking pan, covered with baking paper or a Teflon pad. Form "fingers" - thin sticks about 10-12 cm long and about 1-1.5 cm thick. Do not try to be beautiful or equal. Spread a little jam or marmalade at one end of the finger. I had plum jam and I used it.
On the marmalade at the end of the "finger" place an almond, pressing it to sink well in the dough so it does not fall off during baking.
Using a brush or finger, gently scratch the "finger" with a little cocoa. This will make it look darker and dirtier. With a toothpick or knife dipped in cocoa beforehand, make 2 presses in two places, which will mimic the creases of your fingers. Bake in a preheated oven at 190 degrees for about 7-10 minutes.
I got this stack of WITCH FINGERS doubling the amount of ingredients in this recipe.
Halloween is coming soon. I prepared them with my daughter and it was a lot of fun. I hope you also take some time to have fun with your family! And the sincere smiles on the faces of children are something irreplaceable! Bon appetit!
If I can do it, so can you!
Bon appetit!
